Helping clients assess and deliver opportunities for growth

About Us

Industrial Consulting Partners is a specialist consulting firm focused on helping clients to assess opportunities for growth by developing new business assets, improving asset performance or disposing of redundant assets to realise value and reduce risk.

Our Approach

We support our clients by gaining an understanding of their challenges and opportunities, developing a tailored approach to support them with assessment and analysis and then helping with hands on delivery and project management.

Fees are usually fixed against a clear scope of work.

Our Services

Deciding how to develop a business can be a complex and time-consuming activity often leading to delayed decision making and missed opportunities. We can assist by carrying out analysis and investment appraisal on growth opportunities, plant and process performance improvement and with the project management activity to deliver the new assets or operations.

When large scale change is required, it can be difficult to free up resource to make the change effectively. Our services include programme management to coordinate service providers, deliver change and provide reporting to ensure performance against plan is visible, risks are clear, issues are raised early and plans agreed to maintain progress where necessary.

Where business development includes a business or site acquisition, we can provide support through a review of documentation to identify potential risks so that issues can be raised pre-tender or cost allowed in the offer and/or dealt with in negotiation.

With a wide range of contracts or studies typically required to support new investment or site redevelopment, we can assist with site operations management, contract tendering and appointment, handover to a contractor under CDM controls, regulatory compliance and programme and cost management to integrate with client systems and reporting requirements.

Companies requiring partial or full site closure or redevelopment will want to minimise costs and maximise revenue from site disposal. We can develop a tailored approach for individual sites to incorporate continuing operations or tenants, help with stakeholder management and carry out financial modelling to develop the optimum approach to full or partial site disposal pre or post demolition or client redevelopment.

Where a business decides to proceed with a significant change programme, there may be additional processes required if this has not been undertaken before. To ensure health, safety and environmental compliance as well as robust commercial management we can develop a management framework to integrate any new processes with existing management procedures incorporating project management best practice and established industry codes.

All businesses need to make provision for dealing with their liabilities and this should be reflected in the balance sheet provisions. We can provide cost estimation and review services so that the provision is accurate and sufficient to deal with the eventual work to decommission and demolish assets when they become redundant. This is a requirement for all asset types including office buildings as well as manufacturing plants and should include pre-demolition studies, site management, stock and waste disposal, project management, contractor costs and professional fees prior to disposal or site redevelopment.

A large-scale decommissioning project can be a daunting prospect for businesses without the resource or experience to undertake this. We can provide hands on site management through the run down of operations, stock and waste disposal including recycling and processing of valuable minerals such as coal ash, help with site contractor negotiations, renegotiation with tenants regarding future services, utilities and access, liaison with local planning authorities regarding site redevelopment and the Environment Agency regarding permit variation or surrender.

To maximise value a business may wish to prepare a site for disposal so that risks to the buyer are reduced. We can assist with selection and appointment of advisers for site sale, pre-sale and pre-demolition studies such as Hazardous Materials, Ground Investigation, Traffic, Ecology, Topography, Noise and Vibration, Utilities and Waste Management and assembly of this information for an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Opinion Report prior to demolition work and building a data room to support site disposal.
